¿Permisos para 'sin papeles'?
Así como en Arizona y Alabama se han promovido legislaciones que restringen derechos a los inmigrantes sin papeles, en California se estará impulsando una iniciativa que otorgaría permiso de trabajo legal a los indocumentados.

Se trata del "Plan California", una iniciativa que ayer se reveló en el Congreso Latino que se llevó a cabo en el Pitzer College de Claremont, con la cual se estaría desafiando a las leyes federales ante la inacción del Congreso y de la Casa Blanca respecto a la reforma migratoria.

WHEREAS, El Segundo Barrio Historic Preservation committee composed of active civic leaders from the greater EL Paso area, are engaged in securing an historic district designation for EL Segundo Barrio in the City of El Paso, Texas, and

WHEREAS said effort is initial step toward securing a place on the National Historic Register for El Segundo Barrio as has been granted to Ellis Island, gateway to immigration form Europe, and to Angel Island, gateway to immigration form Asia, and

WHEREAS El Segundo Barrio was and is a principal gateway to immigration from Mexico, and

WHEREAS Mexican immigrants and their descendants have distinguished themselves in the arts, politics, education, law medicine, military service and other endeavors,

1. BE IT THEREFORE resolved that the organizations represented by delegates of the 2010 National Latino Congreso hereby endorse and support the efforts of said committee to the end that EL Segundo Congreso hereby endorses and supports the efforts of said committee to the end that El Segundo Barrio ultimately be placed on the National Historic Register alongside Ellis Island and Angel Island.
